Troop 28

Scouts BSA Troop 28 in Hebron is one of the most accomplished and active Scout Troops in the state of Connecticut.  To date, Troop 28 has graduated 168 Eagle Scouts and continues that tradition with 2-5 new Eagles per year.

For the 2022 scouting season, there are currently 14 registered scouts.  The Troop 28 Charter (sponsor) Organization is Hebron Lions Club.

Each Wednesday the troop meets at St. Peters Episcopal Church from 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM.  The meetings begin with an opening ceremony, followed by a discussion of fun historical trivia, upcoming troop events, current issues and activities available throughout the evening.  It is during these weekly gatherings that scouts work on merit badge achievements and plan for upcoming trips and events.  A closing ceremony signifies the end to each night.

Three times a year the troop hosts Court of Honor ceremonies where the scouts receive merit badges and awards for their achievements.

"Where is there a boy to whom the call of the wild and the open road does not appeal?”

Our Vision

“In Scouting, a boy is encouraged to educate himself instead of being instructed.”  We strive to be a scout led troop.  We believe that letting scouts make mistakes is part of letting them learn.
